Ross Road Kids in Grade 3-5 can go to any Christian Summer Camp for Free! How’s that?

1. Register your child through our Free Summer Camp program (registration is open each September). Your child must attend Ross Road Community Church.

2. Register your child for the Christian Camp of your choice.

CAMP BY MEMORY

This exciting program involves students from Grade 3 to Grade 5 earning their way to summer camp by memorizing Bible verses. Students can earn either the whole cost of camp or a portion of the cost by memorizing a list of verses suitable to their grade. Students are given a list of verses divided into different sections and then required to learn each section by the end of each month. Each student will then have someone to whom they recite the verses to.

This is a terrific incentive to get kids memorizing Scripture!! Both parents and students must sign an agreement that they are prepared to work together for this goal. Students must also display an understanding of the scriptures they are memorizing.

In order to participate in this program the student must be registered in the Fall of each year.

TRANSLATION CHOICE:

The required version is NIV.

LISTENER GUIDELINES:

1. A listener must be over 21 years old and cannot be the student’s parent.
2. The listener must sign the progress reports, which have to be turned in.
3. Listeners must understand what the verses are talking about so that they can discuss their meaning with the student.
4. It is the responsibility of the student to set up the listening appointments.

MEMORIZATION GUIDELINES

1. The student must recite all the verses and references within a given section at one time.
2. There are several verses (highlighted with an asterisks) that the student must re-recite at the end in order to obtain their week at camp.
3. The following in a suggested guideline to help your child complete the required number of verses in time:
Section 1-2 by the last Sunday in October
Section 3-5 by the last Sunday in December
Section 6-7 by the last Sunday in February
Section 8-9 by the last Sunday in March
Section 10-12 by the last Sunday in May
4. The date for the re-recite verses is the second Sunday in June.
5. The student must also be prepared to share their understanding of the recited verses to the listener.

COMPLETION FORMS

It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that the completion forms are signed by the listener. It is also the student’s responsibility to turn those forms into me.

REGISTRATIONS FOR CAMP

It is YOUR responsibility as a parent to register your child for camp. We will give you a certificate and Ross Road will send a cheque to the chosen camp for all the money your child has earned. The minimum number of verses for Grades 3-5 is 35 verses. The free camp costs do not include transportation, tuck and souvenirs, only the basic cost of the camp.
